Budong Malunggay Pandesal

During the weekend, I mostly ate budong malunggay pandesal. I love the crunchy texture of the bread and it is wonderful when it is hot, not too shabby when cold either. Before, this can only be bought near the Lapu Lapu market but now there is a bakery around 500 meters away from where I live. I go there early in the morning while it is not too hot to walk.

I ate a ton so I am a little worried that I may have packed in a couple of pounds during the weekend. I know that malunggay is nutritious but I am not sure how much malunggay is in each pandesal. Anyway I looked up in Wikipedia the health benefits of malunggay. It is a good source of vitamin A (better than carrots), calcium (better than milk), potassium (better than bananas), protein (better than yoghurt) and vitamin C (better than oranges).

Next time I need to limit the quantity I will consume. Now I have another breakfast option during the weekends!
