It’s The Time of the Year

Filed under: Books — rvchua @ 8:52 am

Every time I go home, I have a mad compulsion to whittle down my books. I have been doing this for years by selling them at the Cebu Thrift House which unfortunately has closed already. Now I have resorted to Book Mooch, Facebook and my blog. Not many takers though, it seems I don’t know a lot of people that still read or share the same tastes. The purpose is to dispose the books and dust, not to make money. So I have asked my mother to hopefully donate this new batch at the public library. Any one interested can drop by at the house or if you are not in Iligan I can try to arrange for shipment which you will have to pay (JRS has cheap rates, P150 for 5 kilos as ordinary cargo).

I still have other books to get rid but I am putting it off for now. I am planning to hand over to my older niece my Anne of Green Gables books, along with books on mythology and fairytales. However, I will probably never let go of my Agatha Christie, Jane Austen, Josephine Tey, Dianna Wynne Jones, Neil Gaiman and P. D. James. My goal is to corral and limit my books to the three shelves of my childhood study table.
