1. Carry On by Rainbow Rowell – I was ready to give up on this, Simon was more irritating than Harry Potter and I wasn’t enthralled with either Agatha or Penelope. Then Baz finally showed up and everything changed. I found Fangirl lukewarm so I was surprised to enjoy this book instead. Also I think the ending made sense, I am so tired of hearing the Chosen One.
2. Assassin’s Quest by Robin Hobb – I dreaded reading this after finishing the first two books of the trilogy because I heard this was pretty slow. Since I read the Liveship Traders trilogy ahead there were some details that were spoiled for me. The entire trilogy is wonderful and it ends with a lot of sadness. I wish to give it a higher rating but the repetitiveness was jarring and the length did not make sense.
3. Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling – Loved the writing on this one (small English village) but I either despised or lukewarm with all the characters.
